1. Scope: These Terms and Conditions apply to participation in the Antholz 2026 Medal Predictor for the Antholz-Anterselva Biathlon competitions from 8 to 21 February 2026 ("Prediction Game") on predictor.biathlonworld.com ("Website"), which is organized by the International Biathlon Union, Sonystraße 20, 5081 Anif (Salzburg), Austria ("Organizer").
2. Participants: Anyone who is at least 18 years old at the time of participation may take part in the Prediction Game. Each participant can only participate once. Multiple participations with different email addresses by the same person are prohibited. Violations of this provisions shall directly result in the complete exclusion of the respective participant. Participation shall only be possible personally by each participant. Participations via sweepstake agencies or other third parties who charge a fee for their services shall be excluded. Employees of the Organizer and/or employees of cooperation partners of the Organizer, who are/were involved in the organization of the Prediction Game, shall be excluded from participation in the Prediction Game.
Participants may join an existing prediction group or set up a prediction group themselves and choose a name for such prediction group. Discriminatory, insulting or otherwise offensive Prediction group names will not be tolerated. In the event of an intolerable name, the Organizer reserves the right to request the members of the prediction group to change the name of the prediction group, or to exclude the prediction group and/or members of the prediction group from the Prediction Game.
3. Procedure of the Prediction Game: Participants are asked to predict the podium of each competition. The participants receive points for their predictions according to the rules of the game. Participation in the Prediction Game is free of charge and is not linked to any purchase of goods and/or the use of services. There is no right to participation. In order to participate in the Prediction Game, the participant must fill in the mandatory fields in the registration form provided on the Website.
In order to minimize the risk of abuse in connection with the registration form, the Organizer will send a confirmation link to the email address provided by the participant in the registration form. Only in the event that confirmation has been received within seven (7) days, the participant will be considered for the prize determination pursuant to clause 4. The official results of the Organizer shall be the binding figures for the Prediction Game. The Prediction Game ends on February 21, 2026.
4. Prize Determination and Prize: The overall winner of the Prediction Game will be determined at the end of the Prediction Game. In addition, the daily winner will be determined at the end of each day (overall winner and daily winner together "Winner"). The Winner is the person who has achieved most points in the Prediction Game. In the event of a tie, the Winner will be determined by random selection draw. Each Winner will receive the prize specified by the Organizer on the Website in connection with the Prediction Game ("Prize"). The prize stated in connection with the Prediction Game and the actual Prize are not necessarily identical; deviations (e.g. with regards to design, scope, etc.) are possible. The Organizer will inform each Winner after the end of the Prediction Game via email to the provided email address. If the contact details provided by the participant or his/her name are incorrect or undeliverable, the draw with regards to this Prize will be repeated, and a replacement winner will be determined. In the event the Winner does not respond to the notification email on the Prize within 7 days, the Organizer may, at its sole discretion, determine a replacement Winner. Prizes will not be paid in cash and are non-transferable.
5. Change, Interruption, Termination, Exclusion: The Organizer reserves the right to change the Prediction Game and its implementation modalities at any time without prior notice. Participants affected by such changes will be informed immediately in an appropriate manner. The Organizer shall not affect any claims to Prizes already validly and irrevocably accrued by the participants. Furthermore, the Organizer reserves the right to interrupt or completely terminate the Prediction Game at any time without prior notice, or to extend the Prediction Game by a reasonable period of time.
6. Liability: The Organizer assumes no liability for lost, damaged, misdirected or delayed entries in the registration form or for any technical difficulties affecting participation in the Prediction Game.
The Organizer, its legal representatives and/or vicarious agents shall only be liable for damages, regardless of the legal reason, in the event of intent or gross negligence or – in this case limited to the contract-typical damage foreseeable at the time of conclusion of the contract – in the event of breach of material contractual obligations. Material contractual obligations are those whose fulfillment are essential for proper performance of the contract, whose breach jeopardizes the achievement of the purpose of the contract and on whose compliance the participant regularly relies. This limitation of liability shall not apply to claims for damages based on injury to life, limb or health or based on other mandatory statutory liability.
Apart from that, claims by participants or third parties in relation to the Prediction Game shall be excluded. In particular, participants of the Prediction Game are not entitled to any claims (e.g. damages) in the event of changes of the Prize pursuant to clause 4 or to the Prediction Game itself by the Organizer pursuant to clause 5.
7. Data Protection: Any personal data collected from participants in connection with the Prediction Game will be processed solely for the purposes of organising and running the game, such as participant administration, notifying winners and awarding prizes. The full names of the winners may be published alongside the results.
Unless longer statutory retention periods apply, participants' personal data will be deleted no later than six months after the Prediction Game ends. However, the data of winners will be retained in accordance with Article 6(1)(c) of the GDPR in order to comply with mandatory retention obligations under German tax and commercial law, particularly Sections 147 of the Fiscal Code of Germany (Abgabenordnung, AO) and 257 of the German Commercial Code (Handelsgesetzbuch, HGB).
Personal data will not be processed for any purposes other than those specified, nor will it be disclosed to third parties unless permitted or required by law. Disclosure for advertising or marketing purposes will only occur with the participant’s explicit prior consent.
Participants have the rights granted under the GDPR. These include the rights of access, rectification, deletion, restriction of processing, objection to processing, data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with a competent supervisory authority.
The legal basis for data processing is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR; where processing is required by law, Article 6(1)(c) GDPR applies; where consent is given, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR applies.
8. Applicable Law and Legal Action: The legal relationships between the participants of the Prediction Game and the Organizer as well as the conditions of participation shall exclusively be governed by the laws of Austria. Recourse through the courts shall be excluded.
9. Severability Clause: Should individual provisions of these Terms and Conditions be invalid in whole or in parts, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions or parts thereof. In the event that a provision is invalid, the parties shall negotiate in good faith to replace such provision by a provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision. The same shall apply with regards to any gap within these Terms and Conditions.
